The Payment Times Reporting Regulator released their July 2025 update today. This update provides:

  • payment times insights from Reporting Cycle 8 (1 July 2024 to 31 December 2024)
  • updates on the Regulator’s activities and priorities for 2025, including:
    • greater stakeholder engagement and education
    • a better understanding of the drivers of payment practices and its impact on small businesses
    • our approach to compliance and enforcement.

The July 2025 update provides a first look at the self‑reported data using the new reporting measures. The measures were introduced by the Australian Government’s response to the 2023 Statutory Review of the Payment Times Reporting Act 2020. These changes provide greater transparency of large business payment practices, both within and across industries. This includes the reliability of payment times compared to their payment terms offered.
