Getting ready for the new Payment Times Reporting Portal
As shared in our December updates, a brand‑new reporting portal is on the way. In the lead‑up to our planned launch on Monday, 16 February 2026, we will continue to use this newsletter series to highlight what you need to know and help you prepare for the transition.
In this edition, we explain:
- why the Regulator is launching a new portal
- what to know about the portal cutover ahead of the reporting deadline on 31 March 2026
- how to access the new portal when it goes live.
It is important to note the Payment Times Reporting Scheme itself has not changed.
Why is there a new portal?
The new portal is the Regulator’s most significant IT systems release since the Scheme commenced in 2021. It is a complete rebuild of the existing reporting system, designed using modern, fit‑for‑purpose technology.
The new portal addresses limitations of the ageing technology underpinning the current portal to provide a stronger foundation for future improvements.
The new portal offers:
- a simpler, more intuitive layout with clearer navigation, while keeping core functions familiar
- advanced features to support accurate and consistent reporting
- improved performance for a more efficient, secure and user‑friendly experience.
Can I access the current portal after the new portal launches?
No. The new portal will replace the current portal, which will be taken offline during the cutover outage.
Important: The new portal does not have the capability to accept reports for reporting periods starting before 1 July 2024.
If you have overdue reports for earlier, pre‑reforms reporting periods (those beginning on 30 June 2024 or earlier), you should submit them electronically through the current portal before it is taken offline in mid‑February.
Once the new portal is live, any overdue reports for these earlier periods will require you to undertake a manual submission process with the Regulator. Completing these reports now will help avoid extra effort required for a manual submission process.
My payment times report is due by 31 March 2026. What do I need to know?
If you are reporting for the period 1 July to 31 December 2025, the key points are:
- The reporting deadline remains 31 March 2026, unless the Regulator has approved an extension of time to report.
- You must continue to use the SBI Tool to identify the small business ABNs to include in your report.
- The calculation methods and reporting processes have not changed. Use the current guidance materials for all reporting periods beginning on or after 1 July 2024.
- If you have already submitted your report for this period through the current portal, you do not need to resubmit it in the new portal. The Regulator will contact you if any clarification is required.
How will I access the new portal?
The Payment Times Reporting Scheme website will continue to host the portal. If you have bookmarked the link to the current portal, your saved link will continue to work and will take you to the new portal once it launches.
If you already have access to the current portal, your existing login details will work for the new portal and you don’t need to do anything.
Note: you still must be authorised through RAM (Relationship Authorisation Manager) to act on behalf of your entity.
If you need to act for a reporting entity, but do not currently have portal access, you will need to both:
- verify your identity through Digital ID
- be authorised through RAM to act for your organisation.
Read more about portal access in our current Quick Reference Guide: QRG #1: Getting set up in the portal. We are updating our QRGs to reflect the new portal.
Reminder: register for an online portal demonstration
You can register now for a short online demonstration of the new reporting portal.
We are hosting several webinars at different times before and shortly after the launch. Each session will cover the same content, so you can simply choose the time that suits you.
